The shape of things to come is Hexagonal - LMC in Europe

It’s the start of another academic year here at Lancaster and Morecambe College and it’s nice to see the wide eyed expressions of wonder on the student’s faces… Most of the LMC students are now knuckling down to their coursework and setting out on one of the most important educational journeys in their lives. To help them fulfil their potential and enrich their learning journey LMC have invested in their learning and working environments as part of a long term campus development strategy.

The centrepiece of the developments is The Hexagon Student & Learning Centre. Inside, the hexagon shaped development features an open plan learning resource centre with an impressive high beamed ceiling design. Students will be able to learn independently or work together on group projects in the multifunctional space which also includes a whole range of digital equipment, I-pads, PCs and Wi-Fi alongside the College library facilities and a new higher education research centre.

The furniture inside the development was sourced locally and manufactured as bespoke pieces, with some innovative new seating areas and workstations providing the focal point. The exterior offers an insight into the future of the College with timber framing and design cladding making it a state of the art addition to the campus.

The LMC Construction Centre and the LMC Business and Conference Centre compliment the state of the art facilities of the Hexagon and are already in full swing. Did I mention the LMC Recording Studios? Phewww!
