Estonian Football Coaches Project

Lancaster and Morecambe College recently became home to students from Estonia.

The six Estonians, Priit Joesaar, Priit Raal, Eliot Parn, Arto Saar, Taavi Idavain and Taavi Parts, visited the College in October for two weeks. They all travelled from central Estonia where they all work as part time football coaches at various levels and with different age, ability and gender ranges.
During their stay, they successfully completed the 4 day Football Association Level 1 Coaching Award and supplemented their experience by undertaking a range of practical coaching sessions organised by the College. These included coaching the Development Centre teams, the Pan Ability students, Morecambe Ladies and a session at Dallam School.
They also played a number of 6-a-side games as well as watching Morecambe FC train. They were hosted by Lancaster City for their game versus Wakefield and finished their visit with a visit to Old Trafford to see Manchester United play Stoke City.
Priit Joesaar, one of the Estonian coaches, said: ‘We had a really amazing time at Lancaster and Morecambe College! I’m really hoping that we are able to do something similar again and I want to thank all the staff members who helped or were involved in the project! Also I just want to say that I was very impressed with LMC, it’s a great college, with great staff and students. Thanks for everything!’
